Dymock 1st XI v Witcombe 1st XI

By Ed Buchan Tied game as Harry Wise dominates Dymock vs. Witcombe – Saturday 9th June 2018 Captain Andy Bevan won the toss and elected to bat on a good looking pitch as the sun looked on from above. Ed Buchan and York Senior opened the batting setting a good platform before Senior (8) was caught by Justin Forgan off the bowling of opener Josh Carter (1/56). This brought the captain to the crease and a change in ploy by opposition skipper Forgan who decided that taking pace off to the danger man was the way to go. And it worked as Bevan was caught behind by George Gladding attempting...

Dymock Half Marathon Results – Sunday 27th May 2018

Well the 28th Dymock Half Marathon has now come and gone. It proved to be one of the largest fields we’ve had since it was founded, with plenty of locals and running clubs participating. The weather was pretty good for running even with the heavy burst of rain. Local runner James Rose retained his winners trophy and even set a new course record along the way with a time of 1 h 17 mins! I would like to thank the many people and organisations that helped on the day to make this such a success, including the 4 sponsors (Profil Solutions, John Goodwin’s, Three Choirs vineyard and...

Dymock Half Marathon – Sunday 27th May 2018

Welcome to the 28th Dymock Half Marathon. Our annual event runs through the rolling countryside of the Gloucestershire Herefordshire borders. The course runs through beautiful rural countryside. It’s a road race, but mainly on the lanes with only about 600 yards of B road.  It would best be described as hilly/undulating and as such not one for a PB, although we are confident a new course record could be set this year and there will be a prize for a course record. Starting off from Dymock Cricket Club, we swing South out of the village through small country lanes crossing the M50 for...
