9 man Dymock dominate, by Ed Buchan

Dymock vs. Quedgeley T20 – 23rd May 2018

A dominant display from a short on numbers Dymock team ensured that they took home the 2 points. With regular captain Ed Buchan unavailable, 1st team captain led the side in his first game of the year, winning the toss and electing to bat. Dan Risbey (56) opened the batting alongside his friend from university (77) making his debut for Dymock. Risbey was bowled by Tommy Taylor (1/30) bringing James Bryon to the crease scoring a quick fire 22 not out. Captain Bevan batting at four was removed for 10 on the last ball of the allotted 20 overs. Dymock 169/3 with Colin Clarke returning figures of 2/37.

Jake Wise opened the bowling in the Quedgeley innings with excellent figures of 2/4 off his allotted overs including 2 maidens. Wise removed opener Tony Williamson (3) and Pete Adams (9). Andy Kingaby (1/24) opened at the other bowling other opening batsman Jon Peck (1). Matt Windley (2/5) bowling first change removed opposition captain Paul Drennen (6) with the help of Andy Bevan before finishing the match off with the dismissal of Terry Smith (2). George Goulding (2/19) bowled fantastically in only his 2nd open age game removing Tommy Taylor (19) and George Hart (0) in his 4 overs. Andy Bevan (2/7) bowled economically dismissing Jamie Lavender (12) and Colin Clarke (0). The other wicket taken by Dan Risbey’s mate (1/1) who removed Marcus Drennen (5) caught and bowled. Quedgeley finished on 74 all out.

An excellent all round display saw 9 man Dymock romp home comfortably. Congratulations to Dan Risbey on his first adult 50 and career high score of 56. Also to George Goulding with best senior figure of 2/19. Also some excellent bowling by Jake Wise (2/4), Matt Windley (2/5) and Andy Bevan (2/7). Dymock win by 95 runs.
