Dymock Cricket Club run 2x Saturday league teams, the 1st XI currently play in Division 4 of the 2020 Gloucestershire County Cricket League, the 2nd XI are in Division 1 West of the Gloucester/Forest of Dean Cricket League, We also have a Sunday/Friendly team and T20 Team. The 1st XI will be keen to gain promotion as they finished 6th in Division 4 in 2019. The 2nd XI had a frustrating season in 2019 finishing 7th. Both teams looked strong most weeks, but performances didn’t reflect this, hopefully 2020 will be different story.
The Sunday team is mainly used as a development team to bring the juniors gradually into senior cricket and they are supported by a few Dad’s and veteran players from past times! The T20 team is a fantastic shorter game played mid week, which is perfect for all players. New players of any ability are always welcome to the club.
Dymock Cricket club have many youth teams, with talented boys and girls of all ages. We start with the All Stars Cricket which provides a fantastic first experience for all children aged 5-8 years old where they’re guaranteed 8 weeks of jam-packed fun, activity and skills development. The programme is designed to introduce children to the sport, teaching them new skills, helping them make new friends and have a great time doing so. Many of these players participate in the U9’s Big Bash Kwik Cricket Festivals.
New for this season is the ECBs latest programme, Dynamos Cricket, aimed at boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 11. It is seen as an ideal next step for those that have attended our previous All Stars sessions, but also offers a great introduction to the game of cricket for those who have never played before.
We have 2x under 11 teams (Lions & Tigers) these teams play other local clubs in the Leadon Vale League and is a great way to develop the boys & girls who have come through “All Stars” to give them a understanding and transition of the game.
For the older youth we progress to a Under 13’s & Under 15’s teams who also play in the Leadon Vale League and are fully into hard ball cricket these teams are very much the future of the club and are a very talented bunch at that.
